Get the Six-Pack Abs You've Always Dreamed of

If you could change just one body part, many of you would choose your midsection. Yes, most of us admire sleek and toned six-pack abs, but the big question is how do we get them?

When we set out to make any type of change in our lives, including changing the way we look and feel, it requires dedication, focus, and discipline. But, sometimes just knowing where to start is the hardest part.   For a bit of guidance, I have some helpful tips to aid you in your pursuit of a flatter belly.

Follow these tips:

  1. Variety: A million and one sit-ups won’t get you very far. You need variation in your abs routine to see results. Keep in mind the three areas you want to work: upper abs, lower abs, and obliques and do exercises that target each of those areas.
  2. Priority: After your warm-up work your abs first so that you’re thinking about that during the rest of your workout. When you’re thinking about your abs, you’re using your abs!
  3. Diet: When it comes to results, diet is just as important as exercise. For flatter abs eat more foods containing fiber, antioxidants, and protein. Also drink plenty of water, and avoid high calorie empty foods like candy and soda.
  4. Sleep: We all know sleep is important, but did you know that getting enough of it can also help shrink your waistline? Not getting enough sleep increases ghrelin, a hormone that stimulates hunger. Aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night.
